Default Replacement Heated Seat Module

I need to replace the heated seat module in my 16 Platinum (the one under the passenger seat). I don't have working cold or heat in my passenger seat and verified that the module is the problem by swapping out a good module from a friend's truck. As far as replacements, a Ford unit is $270, and a chinese Amazon replacement is $60. Used units from Ebay are ~$120. I'm leaning towards the Amazon units for price, but I also don't want to burn my truck down. Anyone with experience with the jungle store parts?

spend the money for the ford one. Yes it might be the most expensive but it will be the same as what your truck came with

That's a controller for only heated seats. I have heat/cooled seats. My part number is BU5Z-14C724-A.

My only thing is, the factory unit wasn't that good either, it only lasted a couple of years and hasn't worked (on the passenger seat) for at least the last 5 years. I'm willing to spend $60 to give my wife a heated seat when she rides with me, but not sure if that's worth an extra $200 on top of that. My seat works fine. If the cheap one dies I can put the old module back in and at least have my seat working again. But I don't want it to burn the truck down.

I'm sorry. I had rear seats on my mind for some reason. Your P/N and price is correct.

My original SCME is still working without any issues.

Mass produced OEM auto parts have a certain failure rate just like cheap knockoffs do. But the key word is failure RATE. You got unlucky with the Ford module, which I'm quite positive is built to OEM standards that are far higher than an Amazon copy. It can be enticing to buy the cheaper part and roll the dice, but I know for me, something like this would get an OEM replacement unless the part was known to be a failure point and documented as such online.
