Default Replace camera and now...

Another camera question - replaced my working camera but with a dreadfully awful picture with the updated Motorcraft FL3Z-19G490-D camera. Now all I see is a rainbow of vertical lines. Any ideas on why this has happened and what I need to do to fix?

Thanks

Disconnect, clean out the plugs, reconnect. If that fails, camera could be DOA.

You did a hard reset of the truck, right?

No, I didn't do a hard reset but I can give it a try and see if that doesn't work, thank you for the suggestion.

What’s the story on this updated camera? Would it be an upgrade to a stock 2016 unit?

I hope you get the issue figured out.

Here is a post from another thread about the vertical line issue.

I had it occurring about half the time with the 360 setup. I removed the top tray, pulled the IPMB out (3 nuts, bottom one is tricky to get to, I used a 1/4” drive deep socket on a ratchet), unplugged it and kind of blew out the connections. You could get some dielectric grease for added reliability but I didn’t use it. I also took apart the case for the IPMB to see if anything looked strange on the circuit card, but it looked pretty normal. The piece of thermal paste/sponge was a little off center so I adjusted it to be centered on the chip it was contacting and closed the case back up. Anyway, it works awesome now. Hope this helps someone.

Edit after a few months: problem slowly returned. But, I determined the issue was probably due to humidity from condensation on/around the IPMB case. It seemed to be much worse during the cold so it made sense, since cold temps alone shouldn’t mess with computer hardware. Anyway, couple of silica gel packets in the case and I believe the problem is solved. Going on a few weeks with zero issues, will update.

Upgrade? Lol, no. Update, meaning, they hopefully fixed things that were causing problems.

That's what I'm wondering because nothing I've done so far has worked or even changed the colorful vertical line display

When you install a new camera you need to program it to the truck.
