Default Remote Start Recommendations

I am looking for remote start recommendations. I already have the Ford Pass remote start, but I would like to be able to also do it from my existing key fob(preferred), or another fob (preferably with lock/unlock/remote start on it). I was looking at the Viper 2-way LED system, but it makes me uncomfortable with all of the wiring, etc. that has to be done. I like the idea of a 1-mile radius though.

I had a Compustar system on my last vehicle that didn't have FordPass. 2 mile range, 2 way remote.

If you already have FordPass, range should be irrelevant. I would just get the Ford security module with lock-unlock-lock remote start and call it a day.

Uses your existing FOB, you just press lock, unlock, lock. no horn honk.

On the selection choose the LUL (LOCK UNLOCK LOCK)
then the standard kit using existing remote.
I have this in my 2018 and it works great. It takes no time at all to hook up.

If you want to use existing FOB and want plug-n-play - another vote for Start X.

Very quick install and works with factory FOB (lock/unlock/lock - with no honk).

works great.

I have this and you can also use the built-in remote start menu with climate control and run time settings.

You could always enable the factory remote start and get yourself the 4-button key fobs.

It's not that simple. You have to buy a new receiver module and then your original fobs become paper weights.

It does take a few more items than the plug and play systems that go under the dash, but I completed mine in less than an hour.

The old keys do not become paper weights either. They still can manually unlock and start the truck. Just the keyless aspect of it doesn’t work.

What is the range on the aftermarket system? Mine has a great range I have been in a store at checkout probably 500 feet plus from my car and successfully started it on the first try (through walls, doors, other cars, etc). The green two-way communication LED that lights up is great too does the aftermarket systems have that? If you can put the factory system in, you should not be considering anything but.
