Some time in the past three weeks my remote start has stopped working. I have 2015XLT with 502A option group with factory remote start. I added the ford VSS, and the remote start worked after I first added it. Since then I've done a couple more things : (added a loud horn) and did put a leveling kit, and installed leather. These all required unhooking the battery.
I realized today that remote start isn't working. The key fob works fine, it unlocks, locks, the vss still triggers the alarm etc, but when I remote start, the key fob blinks red twice and nothing happens. I don't want to take it in and have the dealership say I did it with my mods, so I'd rather try to find it myself first.

I know there is a reset procedure in previous year models, that requires pushing a switch. I can find no such switch anywhere under the dash.

Ideas?

I think I remember another guy on the forum with a similar issue and he just had to remove the add on remote start, cycle the ignition, and hook it back up again. Cleared his issue.

The problem is you have the 502a on your 2015

SOLVED!. Even though I had the battery undone for hours on the last project, I just went out and disconnected the pos terminal for 5 mins, put it back on, and now the remote start works again. So I guess, if at first disconnecting the battery doesn't work, try try again!

 

The problem is a 502A on an XLT

 

I can confirm on a 2016 F150 King Ranch. Disconnect the positive for 5 minutes, reconnect, and it worked.
