Question Remote Start Issue

2017 F150 XL 5.0 Crew Cab
I installed the Klein Remote start module a couple of months back. Everything has been great until two weeks ago. You press lock, unlock, lock, and then the truck would start. Now for some reason, you press lock; unlock and try to press lock again and the truck will not accept the third button press, it then has to time out for 10-15 seconds before you can relock the truck or try again. Another crazy part is that if you are standing at the bumper or driver's door, it works normally. But if you are away from the truck it will not work.

What I have done:
Replace remote batteries
Reprogrammed the remote start module
Tried a new key phob
I checked ForScan programming and After Market Remote Start is still enabled.

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like insufficient signal strength.
Did you add a length of wire to extend the antenna for greater pickup sensitivity?

Do you leave anything plugged into the OBDII port or 12v outlets? This can cause interference with remote start.

Did you add some LED lamps? Some of them can cause RFI.

did you change the 3rd brake light with an aftermarket. If all my lights are off on my car the remote works at any distance if I have line of sight to my truck. But when i get out of the truck, and the 3rd brake light (aftermarket) bed lights are on my remote only works if I am next to the truck. I have to wait until they go off for my remote to work at a greater distance of 3 ft from the truck .

The third brake light area is near the remote Transceiver not hardly 15 inches away in the roof of the cab, rear passenger side.
It can pick up interference just off the harness leads from Led lamps that have a certain type of build.

Is your regular truck battery in good shape? Sometimes things don't play nicely if that battery is below a certain threshold, albeit the truck still starts and runs.

OMG, that has to be it. I just replaced my 3rd break light bulbs about the same time this all started! Now the next question, Suggestions on LED bulbs that won't interfere with this?
