Remote Start - High Idle
I like to let my idle drop down to the normal 700ish RPMs before I start driving. Now that it's cold out - that's about 45 seconds after I start up the truck.
If I use remote start/remote access - it keeps it kicked up to 1250RPM or so for a while, even after the key is in and truck turned to "on". Today I waited 2 minutes and it was still in the high idle mode - anyone else experience this?
My last truck was a '14 F150 with the 3.5 Eco and the high idle when I remote started the truck would drop down as soon as I put the key in.

While it's not "cold" here it is cooler than usual, in the 60's, and I've noticed the same thing..don't recall if it did this last year but it does seem to be much longer than the usual 30 seconds or so.
The colder it is, the longer it will take your truck to warm up and RPM's to drop down. I remote start my truck as I'm walking down the stairs from my apartment. I do the same thing and wait for the RPM's to drop before I take off, but that's usually done by the time I make it in my truck. But the few times it hasn't dropped in time, putting the key in and turning it didn't make a difference.

It's going to think that if you used the remote start it either because you want the cab cooled or heated when you get in it.. So it's going to run the engine faster to either run the air conditioner compressor or heat up the engine faster for your comfort... As you requested it to do..
I'm very happy someone started a thread about this, it just started to get in the 30's here and last year I don't remember my high idle taking as long as it does now, sometimes I wait a solid 3-4 mins before it drops down. Is that normal?

It wasn't that long in my '14...and it had the option for "Quiet Start" where it wouldn't have it at a high idle when it was remote started. My '16 was built in June so this is the first cold season I've had it. Sounds like that's how it's designed on the 15+'s.
