My 2014 has the remote head key. It does not have a remote start button on the key, but I could press the lock button 2 x's to remote start the truck. I got new tires and rims on my truck, and now my remote start doesn't work any more. Remote start is not listed in the settings on sync for me to enable it. Any suggestions?

 

If memory serves correctly, the remote start system is - believe it or not - tied into the TPMS module. You'll want to discuss what happened with the shop that mounted the tires for you.

 

Actually, I did that. The tire shop was not able to fix it. I will try disconnecting the battery cable and see if that works.

 

AND .... the Ford dealer told my my VIN does not indicate that I have a remote start system....I bought the truck used so it must be aftermarket, or OEM installed after the fact. Any ideas how to find out what brand it is?

 

Show a picture of the fob used to remote start it. Most of the time it says the name on it.

Ok it is a Fortran (I think is the name) from EBay. Look under steering wheel take cover off and there should be a little box there with a Y harness.
