Has anyone tried this ford access app that lets you unlock your truck and start it also? I’ve downloaded it and it ask for a sim number and then a 4 digit number. I’m assuming it wants your phone sim but I’m not sure about the 4 digit number. Any thoughts. Also I thought you used to be able to use the ford pass app and start your vehicle?

 

I downloaded it, but my rep setup my truck with FordPass...
I had to scan the vin on the drivers door

 

Well I did all the scanning stuff for the Ford Pass app and I remember that I used to be able to start my wife’s car from app but it seems that option isn’t on my app anymore

This is the remote access app.

 

If your truck came with SYNC Connect, that is the wrong app. You need FordPass.

Remote Access is an add-on system. You would have to buy hardware to get it to work, that is why it's asking for the SIM number.

 

Ok thanks. But how come I can’t start my truck with the Ford Pass app. My truck Lariat has the 501A package

 

2018 Lariat 501A had SYNC Connect as an option. It wasn't standard until 2019.

Was SYNC Connect on your window sticker?

 

Just says sync 3. Guess I don’t have it.
