Remember This
No, he doesn't, and that's why so many of us find him annoying. Just a couple weeks ago he didn't know what the rear wind deflector was for on 4Runner and went on and on about how silly the "spoiler" was. Not long before that he was mystified by the buttons that put the front seats forward in a Pacifica so you can stow the middle seats. RTFM or spending two minutes on Google would have given him the answer, but he can't be bothered. These are just two examples off the top of my head, but it's constant with that guy. I never watch him anymore except when he does cars I find particularly interesting or have owned in the past, but even that's gotten old.

wouldn't be authentic if he wasn't giving his opinion .. and come on.. that's a small thing to get that annoyed about.. if i'm reviewing that many cars i'm not going to read every manual .. i've seen him be right way more times than wrong.. it's not that serious .. not many people review cars that well.. Matt Watson from car wow is another good one.. that age old saying.. if it was that easy.. everyone would do it
I actually bought his book a couple years ago. He writes pretty much exactly as he speaks which turns out to be pretty awful reading.
They would be small things, except he makes them big things, because that's his shtick. Of course he is right more than he is wrong...but he's wrong a lot on things that are trivial to find out.

i had to
I actually don't mind Doug but I never take anything a Youtuber says at 100% I saw a video a while back where an "influencer" found some unopened PC hardware from the late 90's and kept going on about the mouse having a ball on the bottom of it and it serving no purpose. Same person also said USB wasn't available until 1999.
This is a classic failure by a company to actually talk to people and find out what they want before building it. Kind of like the Homer Simpson car, the Pontiac Aztek, the Chev HHR (might have been cool if it had some decent power options). Someone should have gotten fired for this.
