Default Rear Diff Lube

Besides $30 per quart, what's the difference between these?

$30? As Mike Tyson said, "it's ludicrous!"Motorcraft fluids are overrated and overpriced. ACDelco fluid is often the exact same stuff for less $.

Here's a better option for half the price.

Valvoline 75W-140 FlexFill Full Synthetic Gear Oil 1 QT Pouch
$15.48
Amazon.com
Store rating 4.5/5

Have some questions about this, if you don't mind my jumping in. First, I've seen one spec that says to use 75W-85 fluid, and now I see 75W-140 is recommended. Which is right? My truck is a 2017 (believe open diff). Second, if any have any of you done this change, how many quarts did you end up using? Thanks!

Unless you have limited slip diff. which usually requires an extra bottle of additive (based on manufacture) as long as you put same weight and type xx W xxx its all the same. Changing and inspecting is MOST important.

The one Ford recommends in your owners manual. As long as the fluid meets the spec, brand makes no difference.
