Good feedback on the Gorillas. Sometimes I wonder if the impacts and sockets leave metal dust on them and that is the rust reported.

Guess that's possible. Mine have never seen an impact gun yet. It certainly wouldn't surprise me to see surface rust on them; I seem to remember seeing other member's pictures here in other threads that definitely had rust.

Makes you wonder if some knock offs aren't on, ummm, maybe ebay? Sounds like a simple sketchy trick.. Glad to hear some are pleased, Mcgards are pricy...

LOL, I bought my Gorilla nuts on eBay, and I'm certain they've been driven by an impact wrench many times... every time I've had my oil changed. I can only credit one-piece construction and a good chrome plating for their resilence. Which demonstrates why the OEM nuts shouldn't be two-piece junk.

There are these as well which say they are one solid piece. They only have black, at least at American Trucks but they are half the cost of McGard. Any opinions?

Do you recall the vendor you got yours from? I was not implying ebay is a bad source, only not all vendors are equal.

I get it. The same caution applies to Amazon. I still had the confirmation email - the eBay vendor was tuneshop.

Believe it or not I've bought a few high-end items on eBay, and never been disappointed. It's important to know the product and vet the vendor. I've no idea if counterfeit lug nuts are a thing, but mine have the right markings and have been performing fine for years.

Would these be the ones I would want then if I get the Gorilla lug nuts and take my chances?

Thanks for that link, I'll probably go this route. I agree, I buy off ebay (and amazon) all the time, it's always about the vendor.
I think his is what I'll need, it's even an extra lug. I like they keep the 21mm size as well
