I have been looking at OEM lugs for our newly acquired 2018 Edge, and it takes the 14x1.5 Dorman has a solid 1 piece, exactly to OEM specs, but it's $46 for a set of 10, so $92....... Ouch.

I did replace the ones on our 14 Flex from Discount Tire and they are Bimicc brand, zinc coated. They looked like ash covered metal after a year. Not impressed. Probably will end up with McGards again and throw in an old ratchet and socket by the spare tire.

They say 'capped nut' Seems that would be the same crap we are replacing. I'd prefer a solid design personally.

In a couple of the threads I read I saw some say the shorter McGard nuts won't fit the spare tire? True or false?

Yes, I'm trying not to be at the mercy of whatever I might be sold by Discount Tire or Belle Tire lol.

Out of the 24 I might have 6 decent ones of the OEMs in case of flat and needing the spare. I just thought it would be easier to just get the longer McGards and not have to worry about fitting the spare.

Just an FYI - I installed the Gorilla nuts on my truck a few years ago, and they still look new. I don't encounter a lot of salt on local roads.

Mine look fine as well. I'm guessing they have been in 3 years, maybe 4. And they see road salt. I don't see any rust on them.
