Default Quick Desert Run

I have a 2015 Lariat 5.0 3.55 and had the transfer case go out at 1400 miles. I now have just under 4000 miles and I wanted to take the truck to the desert to play around with the 4x4.

There are a lot of negative comments about these trucks on the forum and some are probably legit, bits of wind noise, noises from drive train, vibrations, etc. I was expecting the worse on a rough bumpy terrain.

I came back from the trip really impressed, truck did not rattle, vibrate or have wind noise.

I didn't need 4x4 but I got to see the capabilities, 4 hi performed great, 4a seamless intergration, 4 low pulled like it should and the locking rear end was great.

I tried to get stuck in soft stuff but couldn't, probably could have tried harder but I was impressed with the truck. I have the factory goodyears and they had plenty of traction, I went up a hill, 13 degrees with loose rock and gravel, no slipping, this was all in 2 wheel no locker.

A great performing truck and reiterates my choice in this purchase.

Not sure I understand your question. My transfer case was replaced at 1400 miles the new one performed as it was supposed to

Thanks for review! I would love to get out on the trails and see what she can do. I want to see how the hill decent works also!

That reminds me, I was able to use hill decent for a little bit, it was great, for a long downgrade I can see it being a really help. I hit the button let off the brake and the truck crawled down the small hill, I could feel the brakes being applied keeping the truck at a constant speed. It was nice cause I could just worry about the steering input

Ford tried a quick desert run this weekend, didn't work out as well as yours.

This past weekend, the 2017 Ford Raptor went racing as part of the Best in the Desert race, but was unfortunately knocked out of the race due to electrical issues! Had to be towed…

Wonder if the 10 speed had electrical issues. Guess it's better to get it right before its released to general public

Please remove yourself from the forum. Your experience cannot be possible due to the HIGH AMOUNT of trucks that are defective based on the forum posts. You clearly are not thinking straight...

Good stuff!
