Default Quick 2.7 EB question

I have had my 2016 XLT 2.7 for almost a week and started to familiarize with the look and location of the components under the hood. Being mechanically oriented but never having an ecoboost, I am wondering if anyone has a basic diagram of the engine compartment. There are a couple of plugs and harnesses coming out of the front of both valve covers, are those VCT solenoids for the timing? Just little things like this info is what I am wondering.
Love the truck and the 2.7 EB, glad that I picked this model.

Thanks
Tom

You've got your entire warranty period to study the engine before messing with stuff yourself. Grab a beer and some google

Really??? So apparently, no one has ever asked you to pop your hood to show them the engine and asked "So, what is that part" or anything like that? Or maybe you have never even opened your hood to even look? I for one, enjoy knowing where stuff is and what it is so that if/when I need to go to a dealer for a noise, I can say it sound like it coming from "_____", not "Man, it just sounds like its coming from under the front". No assistance from you, maybe someone will chime in that want's to try to assist because I know there is a lot of knowledge and helpful members on this site.

Front of valve covers should be VCT solenoids or cam position sensors. Not to familiar with 2.7s. I haven't looked a lot of parts up for them yet

After looking up it looks like the front is the VCT solenoid and the rear is the cam position sensor

Thanks, I appreciate the reply. Yea, i'm coming from the 04-08 side, still got that one and still very active on that part of the site but picked up the 16 and want to get to know it as well as my 04, even with a 100,000 mile to go warranty, I still like looking under the hood and crawling underneath, can't get that out of my blood.

No, nobody has ever asked me to pop my hood. I think I would laugh if someone wanted to see a stock engine . But just looking around it's pretty easy to spot most things just because of where they are. And really I think the only things someone WOULD want to see if they asked me to pop the hood would be the turbos which are on the bottom sides of the block and pretty easy to spot.

I wrenched on all my previous vehicles and have done all kinds of upgrades and repairs. Not really that hard, but with the EB, I'm not taking any covers off or doing s**t to it while I still have a warranty. Don't need any kind of reason for the dealer to gimme a hassle about anything. Only thing I did was VTA my BOV, which I always pop back in before servicing.

Since there are a lot of F150 owners that I associate with and most have an older model, most have asked me to see what the EB engine looks like. I can obviously point out the turbos and such but asked a simple question as to a seeing a standard diagram of component locations in the compartment. I gave the VCT plugs as an example so that it would be easier for someone to understand what I was asking. Not once did I say I was taking something apart, just that I was interested in knowing locations. If you can't help with a possible diagram, don't worry about it, I will find one if its on the web and post for new owners like myself to learn a little more about their engines.
