Default Putco LED light bar error message

I just installed the Putco LED bar SKU 92010-60 using the Putco quick connect harness SKU 529004. I am now getting the trailer connected, trailer disconnected messages every few minutes.

Any suggestions please?

I have a 2017 XLT 5.0 FX4.

yeah. You can't use those things to plug into the trailer wiring harness connector. Or those messages come up.

Look at the Putco video or instructions. You must connect a bridge (under the dash, behind the steering wheel). I do not have the correct color wires at hand.

Here is some more info I found on the web:

will it work on a 2018 f150 xlt with blis/trailer tow monitoring? will it work on a 2018 f150 xlt with blis/trailer tow monitoring?
Answer:
Nope. Guarantee headache.
The unit won’t last more than 4 mos regardless. Had 2 that blew out on me.

I thought that was not not needed if you use the quick connect harness? I don't have BLIS or LED lights if that helps.

So I did the jump cable under the dash. That worked for like 5 minutes and then the error messages started showing up again.

Any idea guys? Feeling helpless now.

The last instructions I saw from Putco were to connect 3 wires to left tail light wires and the 4th to a right tail light wires. No need then for a bridge wire under the dash.

I have not yet found the correct colors for these connections, but will find them and make the connections on my Putco this afternoon.

I see. Please share when you do. Does that mean I can't connect using the trailer harness and the quick connect harness from PUTCO?

I have a 2017 without BLIS. I used this quick connect harness https://www.putco.com/blade-quick-connect-harness

Do I have to go through the taillight route?
