Default Put my mind at ease

Well after driving and researching I believe I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow on an F150. I've decided unless one of y'all experienced guys tell me otherwise I'm going with the 5.0

So eco vs 5.0 thread? Is that what your asking? If so, I’ll go get my popcorn.

If you have your mind made up on the 5.0, buy it!

I traded in a 2011 FX4 3.5 ecoboost for a 2018 Lariat 4x4 with the new 5.0, 10 speed , 3.73 and couldn't be any happier. I had no complaints with the ecoboost and it never gave me any problems. I'm getting 19.4 mpg at 75 mph and 19 at 80 which is a couple mpg better than I got at those speeds with the eco. The eco did get 21 at 65 mph. I haven't tested the 5.0 at 65 for any distance to see what it will get under normal wind conditions except for 100 miles one day with a 35 mph tail wind and I got 24 mpg but I don't expect to ever get that again.
I only have 1400 miles on it so my mpg may get even better as I accumulate more miles. This new 5.0 is just as fast as my eco was. It's a hot rod in sport mode. I love hearing that v8 exhaust rumble again. This is my experience with a 2018 and if you're looking at buying a 2017 this won't help you. totally different engine and trans.

Just do it!
Make sure you get the truck you want with the towing capacity/payload and rear-end you need.

5.0 is solid. Seems like it's a winner for you. Go get it.

I've got a deposit down on a 2017 with a 5.0 and will be picking it up on Saturday. I personally think that engine is a winner!

2017 XLT 5.0 here as well and very pleased. I just discovered the sport mode button about a month ago.
