Default Puddle lights on with reverse

Anyone know if there's a Forscan programming route to getting the puddle lights to activate when the truck is put in reverse? Truck is a 17 Lariat w/ tow mirrors.

You can tap the reverse supply using two diodes each side to isolate the puddles and power them when in reverse.

When I back down my driveway at night, my driver side tires are about 3 inches from the grass on one side, and my mirror is about 3 inches from another vehicle on the other side. If I can't see my drivers side rear tire and that edge, things start getting squirrelly especially when it's raining. The 360 camera just isn't good enough for that scenario. I ended up installing Rigid LED backup lights which made my life easier, but turning on the puddles automatically certainly would have helped (and save me some cash).

Do the security lights not aid with this. My puddle lights are convenient in the immediate area of the light but the security lights , the halogen style light ups, gives me light when/where I need it. 40° angle worth of light with the mirror fold.

European cars with cornering lights have been doing this. My Aunt had a Saab in the 90’s and when you shifted into reverse both cornering lights came on.

I feel like my puddle lamps come on when I turn on the cargo light. I am able to do this in reverse since i don't floor it and exceed whatever speed limit they have for the feature.

Yup, doing this is how I know I want this feature - I see plenty of scenarios where it would be useful, some where it'd be indifferent, and none where it would be a negative - so I figure, wire it up to be permanent and automatic, rather than push the button each time.

Where you able to figure it out? This feature would be very helpful for me because I have to back into my long and narrow driveway that is dark. Having it turn on automatically would make things easier.
