Default Puddle lights help

Hello again all,

2015 Screw Lariat here. Having problems with my puddle lights randomly going on. I had the dealer check it out last week and he said they could not duplicate the problem. Tested door switches and said they were all ok. Tonight at work once again the darn puddle lights were on. I started the truck and drove because I know this shuts them off. Parked the truck and they were off. Came back 45 minutes later they were back on. As I'm walking up to the truck to investigate, they shut off again all on their own.

Anyone have this issue or any ideas on what could be causing this??

Thank you

Also check the switch in the bed. I've seen a few of those get water in them and randomly turn the puddle lights on and off.

Thank you for the suggestions guys. I have the truck going in this week for warranty work and I will ask the service advisor to do this.
Hoping this isn’t just another case of them not being able to reproduce it 😕

Pretty simple to open the hood and play with the hood switch yourself.

Do you have a pic of where and what exactly I’m looking for? Although I can do basic maintenance and fixes I wouldn’t know what I was doing by just opening and looking.
Same with the bed switch mentioned
Thank you.

Can't talk to a bed light switch. Hood switch is 1/2 way up on the driver's side, black rubber thing. Sometimes gets pushed sideways, sometimes wire pops out of bottom I've heard. Right on edge where hood would touch it when closing. I think on the latest (2018) it's in the hood release mechanism, but yours should be where I said.

I wanted to say thank you. For a while my issue stopped but the past 2 times we have gotten rain the problem started again. Tonight while it was happening I brought the truck to the dealer with hopes they could finally see(duplicate) it in person. The service advisor was open to suggestions so I mentioned this thread and how you mentioned the switch in the bed being faulty from water. He said he would mention it to the tech. 15-20 minutes later he came into the waiting area with the switch and sure enough it was all corroded and rusted from water.
Boy did I feel relieved. I was starting to go Nuts because every time I brought it in they couldn’t duplicate the problem.
Anyhow a new switch was ordered and will be installed in a couple days.
Thanks again
