Default Program a third key for 2015-16?

I have researched this on-line and have found at least three different methods. I have both original flip keys and want to self-program a third. It is not covered in the owner's manual. I will have the blank cut at an auto locksmith.

Has anyone here actually programmed a third flip key for their 2015 or -16 truck? If so, I'd like to hear your method.

In the 2017 manual, your instructions start on page 75.

In the 2016 manual, your instructions start on page 72.

In the 2015 manual, your instructions start on page 71.

I have done it with my 2017.

Insert the first programmed PATS (passive anti-theft system) key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the ignition lock cylinder to RUN (maintain the key in RUN for approximately 3 seconds).

Turn the first key to OFF and remove the key from the ignition lock cylinder.

Within 10 seconds of turning the first key to OFF, insert a second programmed PATS (passive anti-theft system) key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the key to RUN (maintain the key in RUN for approximately 3 seconds).

Turn the second key to OFF and remove the key from the ignition lock cylinder.

Within 10 seconds of turning the second key to OFF, insert the new, unprogrammed PATS (passive anti-theft system) key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the ignition lock cylinder to RUN (maintain the key in RUN for approximately 6 seconds).

NOTE: A maximum of 8 keys can be programmed into the vehicle.
Repeat steps 1-5 to program additional keys

Worked like a charm! When the third key received programming the locks cycled and the four way flashers started blinking. Felt like I was inside an arcade game!
