Default Power Point

I have an issue with my power point. I have tried using it to charge Ryobi and Milwaukee battery chargers. the Ryobi charger says 85W. The cover on the power point says 110v 400W max. I cannot get it to charge the batteries. it did for the first 5 times I tried it but now it wont. I have tried lights, clippers and phone chargers and they all worked. The dealership says it is working fine. Am I missing something or what is going on.

What is the maximum load it will pull? Have you tested it?

Put a known load on it. If it will pull 400w of light it is OK. I don't know for sure, but I seriously doubt this little outlet puts out true AC power. May be your charger is sensitive to the quality of the power. Haven't looked into it, but I'm betting this is low quality square wave AC like you get from cheap AC inverters.

Just did a little google and saw info on the chevy, and assume Ford is same. Cheap junk modified sinewave inverter. If Ford is the same your charger may be having issue with the quality. Assume your charger works fine otherwise? How about a laptop? A laptop charger will be pretty tolerant of bad power.

Thanks Sanf150. looked though it and saw some interesting comments. I just wonder why it worked for 2 months then stopped all together. Now it will charge small loads. With the second job I have I need to use it a lot for charging and running lights. Wonder if I need to stop by the dealer and have a talk with them.

I had an issue with my inverter not charging my Ryobi batteries. The dealership said it was a bad outlet plug. They swapped it out and everything has been fine since.
