I hate threads like this. I'm all excited because I ordered a 2018 Lariat, and now it's like "Oh no.....". I think, hope, pray, that the majority of F-150's don't have these long list of problems. We bought a 2016 Tucson with the 1.6L turbo and 7-speed dual clutch transmission about 18 months ago. The internet is full of complaints about the transmission not working properly. But ours is perfect, and we haven't had a single issue. Seems like it's just a crapshoot with what you get with a mass produced vehicle.
In my case I haven't had any issues outside of the rest end jumping out on me once. And I've got Billsteins on now so no complaints from me.

Totally agree, I've done the same a bunch. You pick an engine over another and then read something bad and second guess yourself. When I do that, I just tell myself to enjoy my decision, usually the differences or so minor it really doesn't matter.

Currently own a 2015 F150 SuperCrew Lariat FX4, 2016 F150 Supercab XLT Sport, 2014 Escape LE and a 2017 Escape Titanium. All 4WD, all have been exceptional vehicles. Ford still builds a quality vehicle in my experience.

Thanks everyone for responses.
For sure profit is over quality.
It seems so hit and miss though from what I have seen. I have 6 guys at work that have 15+ F150s and all but 1 have had issues with theirs.
Different motors, different trims etc.
If it was just an odd item I would not be as negative as I am. It really sucks laying down this kind of money on a truck to have it at dealership being worked on so much. And then having to fight with dealership as they kept saying that I should just drive it and not worry about the issues I have had and to wait till it is louder or worse to get it looked at. Needless to say that guy got told off and I deal directly with service manager now.
But every manufacturer is having issues. I got guys at work with Rams and Chevys that have had some issues also.

Look at where your headliner meets the windshield on your Escape. If its a good fit, consider yourself lucky. Other than that expect wind noise through your windshield soon and your transmission may go south.
