I have 47,982 miles on my F-150. 18 miles left. Dealership is 10 miles away. I have a new issue where when I accelerate there is this "jerking" like the engine has a miss or something. And the usual slamming into gear once in awhile. They scheduled for next Wednesday so I am forced to park the truck for a week. Gives me a chance to drive my Charger which needs exercising anyway.

I suspect they will "find nothing wrong". And I have a bad feeling within 5k miles I'll lose the trans.

What do you think will happen?

I have no idea, but I am trying to figure out how your warranty goes to 48k miles... if you didn't buy an extended warranty, it would've run out 2 years ago. If you bought an extended warranty, why does it only go to 48k miles? This really does not make sense.

Because I stupidly calculated what I would actually use and that seemed to be 8 year, 48k miles. It was several hundred $s less. And of course now I am regretting not going to 60k.

Never heard of a "pick your own mileage" warranty. Regardless, documented issues before warranty expires, SHOULD still be resolved after mileage passes.

Have you ever looked at the Ford ESP plans? You pick the # of years and the mileage.

Ha ha Ford Protect just sent me a renewal for coverage. $4700 for $100 deductible for 36 months of MUCH less coverage. They never actually tell you how much total, just how much monthly, like some moron will just get it without realizing he got poked in the exit.

Did you talk to whomever you bought the warranty through about extending it?

I got mine through Zeigler and just asked them about extending mine, and they told me I could.

if it was me, I’d take a used ford esp insp sheet from Zeigler and have them fill it out at your appt, and renew the warranty before I left (if you even need one)

And also. You would still qualify for a Ford Used warranty from Zeigler that would need the form filled out by a Ford dealer.

if your warranty expires and ford says nothings wrong with the truck, have them fill out the form and buy a used warranty…it’s just as good. Used mine to replace the cam phasers and a rear main seal leak.

This is what I got the quote for above. It was from Flood though. I can't imagine Ziegler is much less. $5k is a bit ridiculous. I will go "self-insured" at this point. I never even used my $1200 ESP plan at all for anything.
