Boss Plows are what Ford puts on their F150 at the auto show in Detroit each year.

I just put a Boss HTX on my 2016 5.0L with plow prep. Seems to work good although I have not plowed any snow yet

I'm dropping off my truck in the morning to have my Boss standard duty mount installed. Bought the plow new in 2011. Had it on my 2010, 2015 and now my 2020. I had the frame mount powder coated so it looks like new now.

Default 3.5 ecoboost plowing

Wonder why they don’t offer snow plow prep on the 3.5 ecoboost?
Why can’t you plow with one of those trucks?

If you do some reading on the forum, you'll find that this was discussed years ago and answered. The electrical system of these trucks can't handle the draw, specifically with the electric steering. The 5 liter with plow prep basically has a button that disables nearly everything so that the electric system can handle the draw when plowing. The other issue is cooling - the plow blocks the ecoboost air intakes to the intercooler.

That why according to Ford they get an Extra-heavy-duty alternator with the snowplow prep.

The 15-up F150 plow prep doesn’t include a different alternator. For $50 it includes:
-A dash mounted switch, to be used when plowing. This switch disables selected non-essential electronic features (heated seats, etc.) to compensate for the heavy electrical load of the plow.
-Computer selected front springs, one level above previous specification.

This has never felt logical to me as you're hardly, if all all, into boost when plowing, and the whole air is cold in winter thing.

What would make sense to me: as there is no fan on the intercooler, you can't pull back to the intercooler any snow that gets thrown into the intake so it can melt off.
