Please HELP...Need advise from a Ford Tech
Truck is currently at Ford, been getting "Collision Avoidance Not Available" warnings every time I start the truck and the cruise control completely stopped working. Now some back story...2016 Platinum, I added a Raptor style front bumper back at the beginning of summer and the new bumper does not allow any space or location to re-mount the Adaptive Cruise Control module, so temporarily mounted it behind the grill. Was working fine for a few months with no issues, then randomly while using ACC it would not detect cars in front of me therefore not adjusting speed and also would give random collision warnings when there was nothing in front. I was told by a few people that I would need to have the ACC recalibrated by the dealer.
Well the dealer is now telling me they can't recalibrate it because it needs to be in the correct location
There is a $300 bracket from Addictive Desert Designs that relocates the bracket higher up for Raptors that add new bumpers...but don't really want to spend that much for a stupid bracket https://www.addictivedesertdesigns.c...l-AC18152503NA
Has anyone successfully relocated or recalibrated this sensor? I can't be the first person to run into this issue or add new bumpers to their truck...especially since there is a company that makes $300 brackets specifically to relocate it on Raptors.
I have a feeling this dealership is just trying to take the easy way out. I could swallow the massive pill and buy that bracket, but it mounts the sensor even higher...and if it's true that they cannot recalibrate then what's the point???

The bracket may not even help. The photo on their sight shows it behind a different grill than yours. Theirs has a mostly clear line of sight forward. Your grill may be a different material plus the paint may cause radar returns.

Someone mentioned above that you can calibrate it yourself using Forscan. ACC can be added and calibrated yourself.

Picked up my truck from the dealer, they actually tried to charge me $130 diagnostic fee when I’m the one that told them exactly what’s going on and what they need to do🙄 . They refused to calibrate...said it’s no longer in the stock location and they “can’t” do it with the aftermarket bumper; but they quickly voided the diagnostic charge, I think they knew it was B.S.
Guess I’ll have to attempt calibrating myself or find a dealership that doesn’t mind trucks with aftermarket parts.
I can understand why the dealer doesn't want to touch it. It has been moved from the factory approved location. This is a safety feature and considering its been moved, a dealer who agrees to program it is accepting some liability should anything happen. Also part of aiming process requires direct access to the module for vertical adjustment. This means nothing can be in front of it during the alignment process.
