Default Please help ASAP—window open and it rained

Somehow my drivers side window was down( I
never open that window) and of course we had a huge rain. Maybe my remote somehow? Doesn’t matter now.

Recommendations on what to do?
Leather seat is soaked.
water down inside window crack and on speakers on the side. Steering wheel as well.
Everything on the drivers side was wet except Rug on floor was saved because of the OEM floor mat.
Should I go buy a dehumidifier from Home Depot?
Should I turn the AC on inside truck?
Or should I not Turn the truck on until I’ve run the dehumidifier?
Pretty much a brand new truck.

Use shop vac to suck up water, after removing the shop vac filter.

I'd run a dehumidifier in there after using a wet vac. I expect it will be pretty humid in there if you don't.

At what point would the truck’s AC be helpful?
I don’t have a dehumidifier but will certainly go buy one now if that is the best thing to do first.

There is not puddles inside that I can see or can get to so I don’t see a wet vac being helpful.

Since I have the ventilated seats, should I run the cold air seats ( or hot) now or wait ?

The truck's AC would never be helpful. I would open the windows, vacuum and dry it, then let it sit with the windows open if it's nice out (which it is in Florida a lot of the time).

The A/C would technically help a bit but the truck needs to be running the entire time the A/C is on. When talking about a dehumidifier you will be seeing it run for multiple hours 8-12 would not be a stretch, possibly more. Running the engine at idle for that length of time to have the A/C running may do more harm than good.

Ok.
yes unfortunately it was that normal Florida Afternoon storm that did it. Too humid out right now with no sun so that won’t work now.
Guess Im heading to Home Depot now .in my other car.

Use a shop vac to suck up as much water as you can. If you don’t have one - you can rent one from Home Depot or rent their auto shampoo vac.

Leave the windows open in the sun on a hot day to get rid of a majority of the moisture. This alone might dry everything up.

if it’s worse....

Pull up the door sills and see how much water your dealing with under the carpet. Use towels to soak up as much from under the carpet as you can. The moldy smell will be from under the carpet if it originates from anywhere - this is due to the lining the carpet has that helps prevent liquid from penetrating easily. Makes drying hard too.

Next get two (or more) large DampRid containers and put them in your truck with the doors closed and windows shut. If you want to speed up the process, run a box fan in the vehicle to circulate the air but still keep it closed.

If that doesn’t resolve any musty moldy smells - removing the entire interior to pull the carpet out and letting it dry in the sun will be required. It will take 2-4 days of sitting in the sun to completely dry if the days are humid.

Pull up the carpet and allow the carpet padding to fully dry.

After it's fully dried use a 10% bleach solution in a spray bottle to kill any mildew and allow that to dry. The bleach won't harm the carpet color.

Fortunately because of the FX4 liners, the carpet has minimal moisture. But I will double check and use the bleach spray if necessary. Thanks. The leather Drivers seat will air holes appears to have received the most moisture.
