If I was goin to drive the f150 in snow , aside from sand,I’d just pony up for studded or non studded snow tires the difference is like night and day. At this point I have two subarus with studded snow tires and the f150 is more for work in the summer.

i run nokian snow tires on my Subaru Outback, Subaru Forester turbo and my T150 ecoboost. I will not run any other snow tire, these guys have it figured out in regards to responsible production, grip, stud construction and longevity etc. You can get a set of these for an f150 for @1000 shipped from tiresbyweb

If you need studded tires in an F150 to get where you "need" to go, you probably shouldn't be driving there at all until the plows come out

Honestly, any decent set of tires + 4H = should be able to get where you need to go. If you can't get there, it's probably your driving style holding you back, not the truck.

Granted the tires are new so they have maximum tread depth which perhaps helps. Have to see how they do as they get some wear on them.

For now my OEM Hankook's are OK but won't hesitate to change them out if they can't get it done in snow.
Mine have 2300 miles on them. I could have gotten out in 2 wheel, but figured I didn't want to throw crap all over on a clean truck, and since I've got the ELD, and 4X4, I figured it would walk right out.
Oh well, after 50 winters of driving, you'd think I'd be better than that!

Actually that's about the same miles on my tires! Saw you're in MI so you also get plenty of snow. My brother lives in Marquette, MI which gets even more snow! He can keep that weather....

not sure why you are quoting me but it’s my first quote on this forum so I’ll take it Also I agree use your brain and 4H. What I was saying is studded snow tires are huge in Montana, it’s not Wisconsin. I just don’t really drive my f150 in the snow, when I have two subarus that will literally do circles around the f150 in the snow

Yep yep, this year so far it's been pretty light. Hope it stays that way, it'll keep the downstate snowmobilers away! Marquette can be interesting at times, I used to drive the snowbelt in the lower, across the Yooper into Ontario everyday, and been throughout the Yooper in the winter. Glad I'm retired this year and don't even get out, unless I want to.

OMG!!! Very small world! I grew up in Monroe! Both my wife and I are from there. Worked 29 years at DTE! Left down there in '06, and started playing with the big trucks. I'm just southwest of Hubbard Lake, shop in Alpena all the time. Judging from from all you said, and user name, you must be in "Taylortucky"!!

We just had our first big snowfall of the year and the Hankooks along with AWD handled the snow on unplowed roads just fine. I didn't slip at all. 30 years of driving on snowy icy roads.
