I'm not sure lowering the pressures would help. I'll defer to the more experienced among us. Personally, I would run 35psi all day long and just go easy in the snow until you put replacement tires on. I wouldn't want to chance breaking a bead loose with lower pressures, or causing a handling issue (ie, Firestone/Explorer circa 2000ad).

Agreed, just get rid of the GoodYear HT's as fast as you can.

Bought a set of these. https://tire.yokohama.ca/tires/iceguard-51v . Phenomenal tires. What a difference! Very rare I have to use 4WD.

I bought these too and they have been great. Decent price, Decent mileage, not loud on the highway, great in shallow snow and dry ice. Wet ice /off road, not so sure....Compromise as always

DONE!

I found 4 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W for $518.06...delivered. Just $18.06 over my collision deductible if I run into tree. So win/win....in my opinion. Delivery is next week...so I'm a driving like an old lady till then (I'm not...btw)

The Falken Wildpeak looked almost too good to be true for price, but reviews were almost universally good to excellent. I was leaning toward GYW Duratrac, bases on good reviews in this thread, but they were going to be $300 more. I hope I'm not disappointed....

I sometimes miss the old LSD's....or mechanical locker
I've been driving a rental Ram 1500 for about a week(F150 in for a brand new paint job) and I've climbed out of places with their limited slip in 2wd that I would have had to put my F150 in 4x4 or e lock.
It wasn't the tires....
We just got a fresh dump of snow.
I'm actually impressed with the powertrain side of the Ram.....tranny n engine....rear end work very well together.
Rest of it....hmmmm

My 15 Silverado 6.2L/8 speed had lifters n pushrods replaced 3 times before 35k kms
Every time they said camshaft ok....whatever
Throw in tranny dealership admitted was f.....d but Chev wouldn't touch, and a highway vibe...
Cut my losses and why I'm driving an F150 again.
So I know how you feel
