Is this payload possible?
I emailed a dealer about a truck I am interested in. The told me the door sticker says its payload is 2950 pounds. Its a 2017 F-150 XLT, SCAB, 4X4, 3.5L ECO, 3.73, Max tow, HDPP, 7850 GVWR
That makes curb weight 4900 lbs so yeah, possible. Depending on that exact truck that is.
My 16 Lariat 502A SuperCrew scales right about 5500 curb.....give or take for whatever crap I'm hauling around on a regular basis.
By my placard numbers: 7050 gvwr, payload 1606 = 5,444 curb.
If he meant 1950 then curb would be 5,900. 7850-1950=5900. Which is heavier curb than my loaded Lariat supercrew 6.5 box. Unlikely....

this is from 2015 full f150 specs. attached
lists a scab 4x4 164"wb @ GVWR 7850# and the max payload @2760# with 3.5 and HDPP. FYI
not sure how much change from 15 to 17. I downloaded that doc off this forum somewhere.
front GVWR 3750, rear GVWR 4800. from this doc.
2017 specs GVWR 7850# 2980# payload 4x4 scab 164" 3.5 eco max tow HDPP
front GVWR 3750, rear GVWR 4800 same as 2015 where they came up with an extra 210# max??
yes according to literature 7850# and 2950 payload is within specs.
( above statement is not correct for super cab)
I would ask for picture of both stickers.
2017 specs to follow would not let me upload
sorry looked at wrong row I looked at reg cab:
2017 super cab 164wb 2680max payload: the regular cab 141" wb is the one with 2980.
sorry
sure they said super cab and not reg cab

Hi
My payload is 2603 pounds
2016 Scab 164 wheelbase ( 8 ft box) 5.0 l , but I have some option that is lowering payload ( console, step in tailgate ) so yours may be wright or a little too much but possible. I think that the 3.5 is a little heavier than the 5 l also.

Hold on a second, I'd like to add to my previous response.
It seems something may not be right. 2950 is possible on a SuperCab, but on a 2wd, not a 4x4:

That's from the 2017 specifications PDF.
2wd vs 4x4 might be where the salesman (or listing) tripped up.
Looks like the 4x4 has 240lbs less payload, which would be the transfer case, front differential, shafts, fluids, etc added weight.
You can also "guesstimate" from that chart that the 3.5 EB adds an additional 40LBS over the 5.0.....2960 payload for the 5.0, 2920 for the 3.5 EB, both with the same HDPP equipment.
