Default Painting emblems...

I saw these on ebay and want them BAD for my magnetic sport XLT. I'm was originally thinking of grabbing some of the red/black special edition side and tailgate/grill emblems but these are pretty badass. I'm just not a fan of chrome. Price seems a little steep on these so I bought a standard chrome/blue tailgate badge for 20 bucks and was going to test paint one myself. I have an airbrush and If I can reuse my existing emblems I'd save a ton. Any suggestions on what magnetic paint to use? I see a lot of people complaining that stuff bought from ford doesn't match very well. I suppose it doesn't have to be perfect since I'm not fixing a scratch and trying to blend but obviously I'd like it as close as possible without spending too much.

I'd go with Dupli-Color. You can get it from O'reilly's. It's easier to do than you think.

They are expensive, but 100% worth it to me. I bought some for my truck and love them. The pictures do not do it justice, actually they suck, but everyone who has seen them in person says they look great!

Those have been sitting in my ebay watch list for awhile now. Just need the extra funds and drive to take apart my grill.

It's really easy. Just watch a YouTube video on how to take the grille out (less than 20 minutes). Once the grille is out, remove the 3 "nuts" that hold the emblem to the grille. Reverse the process. Super easy, I promise.

Now the tailgate emblem? That was a PITA. Between the stupid clips and double sided tape, that took me almost an hour with a lot of profanity.

I’m about to do something similar but with the fender emblems. I bought a sew of used special edition black and red ones off eBay for $40. I figured this would be better since I wouldn’t have to paint anything black on these because the F150 is already black. I’ll be painting the red part pink. Here they are taken apart.

Great... I guess its good that's the one I bought. That tape seems to make destruction certain.

I took apart part the fender badges, did a little work to them, then painted to match tuxedo black. Something virtually nobody will notice. I am really happy with the outcome.
