Default P2BEE Code - 2020 2.7L Eco

Haven't found this yet by search feature, so I figured I'd ask it. Is anyone familiar with a DTC code of P2BEE? It just popped up on my 2020 F150 (It's new to me, so the dealer will be taking care of it). I would just like to know if this is a random thing, or problematic. As near as I can tell from some Googling, it may have something to do with gasoline quality or ethanol content, but not sure.

The code indicates Lean Bank 2.
There are 14 listed possible causes.
Both banks Long term Fuel Trims should be looked at to see what the other bank's Trim shift value is.
Most of the time, the only way one bank is shifted that far is an Exhaust leak in front of the upstream Ox Sensor that is detecting extra Oxygen.
When this happens, the system tries to counter it by adding more fuel to the bank and goes out of limits.
When this happens, the program tells you about it with a code, because it's not a normal condition.
Note,.... the Lean indication when the fuel table actually is shifted Rich in an attempt to correct the Lean condition that caused it. It's the way Logic and Hardware action works in opposite directions, in a 'smart' self adjusting system..
Good luck.

By "just popped up" do you mean that you have/had a warning light or that you dug up this code in Forscan? Big difference. Can't say that I've ever ran across that code yet.

No Forscan yet. It showed up on my dash and I read it and cleared it with my scanner. came back up again today. Both times it was shortly after filling up, so I wonder if it is an evaporative thing?

Just trying t get information before dropping it off to get warranty work. I trust dealerships about as far as I can throw them. Still, I'll be keeping a paper trail if they can't get it fixed on the first try.

I appreciate the in depth reply. This is my first stock forced induction vehicle, so I'm trying to learn all I can.

I did all the work on my Mustang, so I'm not unfamiliar with Forscan and tuning, but I'm trying to keep this truck full on stock (and warrantied).

There is a TSB that might be of interest.

I ran across that one. It specifically calls out the 5.0 powered trucks, which is why I didn't stick with it, but I'm curious about the part where they are specifically saying to reprogram the PCM with the most recent software version. I've done KAM resets before from the SCT tuner I use on the Mustang, but it sounds like its up to a dealer to program with the "latest software". Still, things I will bring up when it goes in for its warranty appt.

Sorry. For some reason I thought you had a 5.0L. There is also a TSB for the 2.7L but it is only for a 2018.

I only use sinclair or QT gas top tier brand fuel 87 grade. I have got this alert 4 times and the ford dealership changed the o2 sensor and the fuel filter in the left bank as far as i know thats all they did besides changing the oil but that is not any part of the issue. But i have noticed that if my gas is under 1/2 tank is usually when it happens so maybe some crap sitting in the bottom of my gas tank clogging the fuel filter... but mechanic said nope nothing in the filter. Checked my air filter nothing there it was changed 1000 miles ago. So thats my thoughts on it.and i have the paper trail to back up what i mentioned. I do also take random longer drives (200 miles or over) i fill up with QT when i can find one but before longer trips i fill that truck up with 91 with NO ethanol... holy crap that truck flies with 91 in it lol i am a lead foot too that makes the truck really go..lol i have the 2.7 eco boost V6. 2020 ford f 150 xlt crew cab.

.
Please look up the code P 2BEE from a Ford DTC list and look at the >>>><14 possible causes.
One TSB listed for 2.7L as TSB 20-2324.
Good luck.
