Default P0451 Code

SO my CEL came on a few weeks ago with a P1451. I changed out the purge valve and it cleared that code, but now it has this P0451 code. I have the 2015 F150 Sport V6 2.7L Ecoboost engine. The suggested repair is the Fuel Tank Pressure Switch, but I cant find anything definitive on where it is located or if the truck has one when I go to do a parts search for this truck. Any suggestions? Thank you

If your OBD-II vehicle has presented a code P0451, it simply means that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a malfunction in the pressure sensor circuit of the evaporative emissions (EVAP) system. ... EVAP system/fuel tank pressure is monitored by the PCM using the EVAP pressure sensor.

The year of the vehicle would be helpful

P0451 - Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Range/Performance

Description:
This DTC sets when a fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor range (offset) concern is detected. The FTP sensor output is offset by greater than 1.7 inches of water or less than -1.7 inches of water.

Possible Causes:
  • FTP circuit intermittent open
  • FTP circuit intermittent short
  • FTP sensor intermittent open
  • FTP sensor intermittent short
  • Contaminated FTP sensor
  • Damaged FTP sensor
  • Damaged PCM
Diagnostic Aids:

With the FTP sensor at atmospheric pressure, the FTP PID normally indicates 0 inches of water. Remove the fuel filler cap or, for vehicles with a capless fuel filler pipe, install the supplemental refueling adaptor provided with the vehicle to open the capless fuel tank filler pipe. After installing the supplemental refueling adaptor or removing the fuel filler cap, wait one minute to allow the pressure in the fuel tank to equalize with the ambient air pressure before accessing the PID.

REALLY need to know the exact year. The exact meaning of that DTC has variations depending on the specific application.

Depending on year it may still be covered under warranty.

If you're under 8/80, in the US, and not in California (only 7/70), it should still be under the Federal emissions warranty. If so, take it to a Ford dealer for warranty service.

Well on Saturday while sitting in a parking lot idling, it quit on me, and wouldn't restart. I was able to pull the codes off it before it was towed. It showed P0451, P1450, and P0087. Be interesting to see what Ford has to say about it. Tow truck driver said he picks up 3-4 Fords a week with the same issue.

I take it this applies to the 2018 ford f150s as well? I'm at 47k on the odometer and the light came on today. Last filled up the tank a few days ago.
