Default Outside temperature

In the last 24 hour my 2015 MFT screen has been reading 17 degrees lower than the actual temperature. I don't know where the reading in taken from but I did for the first time applied Rain X to all my windows. Could there be a connection there or do you guys think I need to take it to a dealer. I have a little over 4000 miles left on my warranty.

The sensor is behind the grill. Mine usually gets stuck on a certain temperature after a car wash or when idling for periods of time. Try driving on the expressway to see if it changes.

Someone else had an issue with the ambient air temp sensor. You could try checking it. It's in the grill area as 5.Bro said. See this thread:

I am currently having this issue on my 2016. Seemed to start about the time I updated to Sync 3 2.2? Really annoying.

My thoughts are that the truck sits outside or in a garage depending on time and place you start the truck. So many variables come to play. It is what it is at the end what the truck is reading. My iPhone tells me one temp the truck tells another, apps tell another. Most are with in a range. I take it for what it is.

No, this is certainly a hardware issue with the truck. Reading 15-20 degrees below the ambient temperature while in traffic or at highway speeds.

More likely a software issue then, if it's that serious. My 2015 works about normal. Sorry to hear for your issues but I don't doubt them.

Fyi, I stuck my fingers inside the grill and unplugged it and made sure everything was clean and dry before reconnecting and it's a lot closer to normal now. I do have a new temp sensor on the way ($9) to check against when it arrives.
