Oh I agree, I'm not excited about being a beta tester for the new 10 speeds, new transmissions seem to have problems these days no matter who makes them.

I'm just without a truck right now because my Sierra got bought back so I was on the fence about a 2016 or waiting for the 2017.

But I can't wait until December that's for sure. The only reason I've been waiting now is because Canadian incentives are crappy lately.

Supposedly, the new 10-speeds are the same ones that were in ZL1 Camaros, so they may have most of the bugs already worked out them. Manufacturing may be the only constraint.

Whoa, I didn't spot that the ZL1 was GM's first application of the jointly developed 10 speed. Maybe I'll hit the camaro forums to see what the reports are about it.

I think that the 10 speed Camaro debuts in 2017.

Is that a typical date for the new model year? As in fleet orders have a long lead time or are first order taken or something.

The stickied tracking thread has 7/28 in post #7 for a then new 2015 order date. Ford has 07/18/16 listed as 2017 f150 first order date*

F150 scheduling begins on 09/12/16 for Dearborn Truck Plant and 10/24/16 for Kansas City Truck Plant.

*All dates are estimated and subject to change.
