Ordered!
Did you negotiate pricing and sign anything before the dealer put in the order?
Interested in hearing how the ordering process went for others because I'd didn't sign anything or even talk final prices. Just gave him a check for 1k as a refundable deposit. Seemed kind of strange but I guess if I change my mind or it takes too long I'm not locked into it. However, when the truck gets here I don't want them trying to charge me MSRP that's for sure...

So I went set up an appointment, we went over each and every feature and if I want it, I filled out the credit app and placed the order. It's nice that we've gotten so many vehicles from him that automatically, we get the lowest price he can go off MSRP.
Unless dealers get charged for custom orders, I don't understand why they want a deposit when odds are that truck will sell.
My family has been going through the same dealer/sales person for roughly 25 years and have leased probably more than 15 vehicles from him. So I called him up about ordering a 2015 and asked about a deposit for the order and he said something along the lines of "I know you're going to stick to the order. Besides, it's a truck that we could easily throw on the lot and sell. You don't need a deposit."

The way the salesman said it was that "the deposit just shows my bosses that you're serious about buying the truck". Makes sense to me but I'm wondering how much I can negotiate once the truck gets here. He said he would do $500 over invoice but now that I'm seeing people are getting invoice or less I'm hoping I can push them to do that as well. MSRP was 52400 and invoice was around 48000. I'd love to get to 46k after rebates but we'll see as in the end I'm not willing to wait another 12 weeks over $500.
Well today My uncle pulled the trigger and ordered a 2015 SCab XLT 301A Long Box 5.0 W/3.31 Locking Rear Differential, full tow package, running boards and box side steps and even ordered with Tow Mirriors. He was originally going to buy a white with the two tone but changed his mind and got the Dark Grey Colour. What is the extra cost of "Spot lights"?
