Default Open diff upgrade options

My 2015 Supercrew Lariat 4x4 has the 8.8, 3:31 geared open rear diff with Ford’s Wheel Spin Control.
I think I want more traction capability and want either an e-locker or a limited slip installed. And I know the price difference is considerable.
The local 4WD shop and the Ford dealer can’t figure out what will fit and it’s very frustrating.
I’d really appreciate input from you guys.
Will a limited slip be noticeably better than the stock open diff?
Is adding an e-locker feasible with the potential reprogramming, new cable run, new select switch, etc?

A limited slip will be far better than open, I can't stand the open diff in my 15 and will be installing a True Trac ASAP! The nice thing about a LS over a locker is they just work, no buttons, no speed limitations and no remembering to engage them. IMO a locker really only is great if you do alot of off roading.

The Super 8.8 doesn't really have a lot of options. Swap in a 9.75 axle and you have a multitude of options.

Do you know what options I do have? Is a limited slip available?

The oem Mustang diff will work and Yukon sells a modified version of it now too. Look in the Hogh Performance section...the 8.8 thread is on the first page. All the info you want is in there.

Is the Super 8.8 the same as the 8.8?

Thanks for that info. I’ve tried to look at every thread discussing upgrades for my diff but I don’t see a consensus on what can be done to it.
I’m surprised that both the dealer and the 4WD Parts franchise guys here don’t know either.
It sounds like the Detroit Truetrac LSD is the way to go. I don’t know how to do it but I’ll find someone who does know.
