Default offroading in sand fx4

Today while i was offroading i got stuck with the 4hi on turned it to 4lo and my wheels weren't spinning at all none of them. Switched to 4hi again and they still didnt spin for a while not even with the locker on. Is this normal on newer f150s? Since my friend who tried to pulled me out has a 2011 f150 and the same thing happened while he was hill climbing in reverse and was about to get stuck

Did you turn off all of the traction control? 4L should have done that for you.

Sounds like your transfer case didn't engage 4L. Did you go to Neutral before switching to 4L?

Is it a ecoboost or 5.0? Co-worker had a problem with his 5.0 W/33s trying to get unstuck in 4wd

the motor wouldn't make a difference.

Sheesh I've read a few of these complaints now, and it's always in sand. I'd hate to go through some mud hole and get stuck. I'm almost scared to try.

For those of you that frequently go off road (especially in sand) is this the norm, or once traction control is turned off do the wheels spin and get the truck out?

If its a problem with trasfer case i would say motor makes no difference. If its engaged and not spinning, i would say that its under powered in low end. I had a 5.4 that wouldn't spin in 4H in sticky situation and wouldn't engage in 4L unless it was able to roll a few inches to lock. I would assume a turboed engine would build boost and spin 4H no matter what.. could be wrong .. my opinion.
