offroading in sand fx4
Sheesh I've read a few of these complaints now, and it's always in sand. I'd hate to go through some mud hole and get stuck. I'm almost scared to try.
For those of you that frequently go off road (especially in sand) is this the norm, or once traction control is turned off do the wheels spin and get the truck out?

Maybe I missed it but can you define stuck for me? As in just all four tires wouldn't move or you were buried to the frame?
If you went into 4lo and the wheels didn't move but they would in 4hi you have a transfer case issue.
If you were buried to the frame and couldn't see the wheels moving well that's a different story.
If you put it in 4lo right now will the truck move?

When you say spin, do you mean you pressed the gas and the truck just sat stationary and didn't move and the tires weren't moving at all? What did the engine sound like? Did it rev up or just act like it was bogged down. I have a beach pass and drive on it quite often. The first half of a mile is so loose that people get stuck all the time. My sisters bf almost got stuck in had Silverado last time, but I don't have any problems in 4hi or 4lo. I can even stop and go when others have to keep moving or they will get stuck. My truck is stock and I don't air down the tires (38 psi in them). It will spin the tires and throw sand in 4hi or 4lo. Any of the f150 engines should. I left my parking brake on one time and it acted like what your is doing, but that was an old bronco without a parking brake light. I'm sure this truck would tell you. In 4hi, did you double press the traction control button, just press it once, or hold it for 10 seconds?
