Off Road
What mods have you done to enhance off road capability? Looking for ideas to improve an F150s ability to go nasty places in the Rockies. It appears to me the greatest weakness is with clearance and approach angle.
I would say this applies to any stock 4x4 with a few exception.
1. Mud terrain tires
2. Lift for ground clearance and articulation
3. Lockers.
4. Rock sliders
5. Winch
Almost always in that order. Without a doubt just adding mud terrain tires will more than double your traction and should be the first thing to upgrade if you are going off road and have street tires now.

I put on Fox 2.0 coilovers up front and fox shocks in the rear. Along with putting a raptor skid plate on my front bumper. I have the FX4 package so I have all the other skid plates. Just wanted a little more coverage up front. I would say besides those the only other thing you would need is a good set of tires and some lockers.
I put a 6" BDS suspension lift with fox 2.5 coilovers and 2.0 rear shocks with 35" toyo muds. If you don't want a full on lift kit then I personally would buy the 2.5 coilovers from king and 2.5 King piggybacks. They are adjustable for up to 3.5" of lift in the front. (I wouldn't do any more than 3 max on an f-150.) and a bigger rear block in the back for more height. Also can get the option of adjustable compression ***** for the reservoirs. I would also put uniball control arms as well.

Tough tires, 10ply.
Shale and rock will **** your stock tires up and you'll be in bad situations. That would be #1 priority.
I've upgraded nothing yet but already damaged my 20" rims on my truck from driving on "trails"
I've repaired a tire about 5 times now. I'm a sucker for punishment I guess.

Courage, firstly, considering this truck can easily exceed $70,000.
Secondly, I went with a 4" BDS lift and 35" BFG KO2's, since tired size is the only real way to get ground clearance. Then, if you're into some serious rock climbing (I'm not,) you'd want to ditch the from bumper to improve your approach angles.
I can't think of a more important top three for rocks, but I spend most of my time in mud so I'm probably not the most qualified here.
