Odd Text Message Issue with Sync 3
I've been noticing that my Note 8 isn't alerting me to new texts, but when I get in my truck, there's a new text waiting for me. I really don't want to have to turn off BlueTooth every night, but that's the way it looks.
I'm thinking I should do a factory reset in Sync because I'm getting the "Sync will automatically update" message every time I start up the truck, no matter if WIFI is on or not as well. Wondering if anybody else noticed this.
Ghosts in the Machine I guess.

The way I'm reading this is that your Note 8 doesn't alert you to a new text outside your truck. But when you get in your truck, the Sync 3 alerts you to a new text. This sounds like an issue with your Note 8 notification setting. What does turning bluetooth on / off have to do with anything? What am I missing?
I had a buddy text me about heading to the airport to see another co-worker come back from an Honor Flight trip. I didn't hear anything from him, so my wife and I went out to eat. Got in the truck, Sync showed a new text, went to my phone and the text was there, but no notification of it on the phone.
I get my notifications, but If I dont' click them FAST - they go away... I wish Ford would leave them up for say a full 60 seconds at least... I wish also, a setting that Automatically read my incoming text messages, instead of forcing me to take my hands off of the wheel, aim for an imaginary button on a glass screen and hit it - while driving!
I get text messages and notifications just fine inside the truck. When it's parked on my driveway, the truck gets the texts and my phone doesn't give me notification of any. If BT is turned off while the truck is on the driveway (or the truck isn't in range of the phone) I get notifications of texts just fine. I haven't noticed this with phone calls/VMs yet.

Check that your device disconnects from SYNC when you shut off the truck. If it is still connected, or thinks it is connected, the phone will remain silent for all incoming texts and calls.
You can determine still connected vs thinks still connected by walking away with the device. Bluetooth is limited to about 50ft max under best conditions with most devices.
