Default Now another issue....

2016 150 3.5 eco. Check fuel inlet..... WTH does that mean? There is no fuel cap. I have researched this, and I did what the YouTube videos said to do, clean it out spray some WD-40. But it just keeps coming on now every time I turn the key. I also have used the little funnel that comes with the truck and stuck it in the inlet 30 times to no avail..... I should also say that a while ago I was having evap codes. And I switched to 93 octane and evap codes went away. I went back to 87 and the EVAP codes came back. So I went back to 93 and I haven't had any evap codes..

When you get fuel, do you keep clicking the nozzle after it auto cuts off? I had similar happening until I just started to fill it until the nozzle cuts out. Just an idea.

Yeah I do keep clicking it. I'll try it the way you described.

more than likely, the flapper on the filler neck isn't sealing properly, the filler neck might need replaced soon

What happens when you do that, is you're actually flooding the vapor recovery stuff, causing that system to malfunction. I'm usually more detailed as to the names of stuff, but for some reason, the proper name escapes me right now.

Gold Star!!!! Yes, if you flood the vent hose, you could conceivably get fuel all the way to the cannister.
Thanks DJ.

All right. I'll admit it then, for the past 10 years I have been fueling the truck up to the neck if I can. Call it OCD I guess....

What damage have I done? And how do I replace the flapper piece that you guys are talking about?

to replace the flapper, you have to replace the whole filler neck.

and its possible you flooded the charcoal cannister, but you more than likely would have a constant evap code for that
