Now another issue....
Hey everyone. So the check fuel inlet is coming on every start up. Sometimes it will come on while driving. I need to replace it. I am looking for the exact part number. I am definitely having a problem finding it. One website gives me a part number, says it will fit, then the next site says that, that exact part number is wrong for the 3.5 eco application. And, is there a microfiche for these vehicles I can look at? Just a reminder she is a 2016 F-150 3.5 ecoboost v6 xlt crewcab with extended range fuel tank. Thanks everyone.
Have you tried this first? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlK2qekqX5s
If you have a light, you have a code. Get the code read, look it up on Google, find a source that shows troubleshooting tips, and step through them.
Regarding the question of can the charcoal canister go bad, yes it can. If the charcoal has been saturated with fuel too many times, it can lose its ability to absorb the fuel vapors. I had to replace the canister on my Avalanche at around 80k miles. The evap code went away.

So even if it says to check the fuel inlet, the fuel inlet might not even be the problem? It could be something else? Why couldn't they just keep the cap system? The cap system has been working for how many years? But some genius engineer I thought this would be a great idea....

So the check fuel inlet message has disappeared on its own. I do have an appointment set up at the local Ford dealer on tuesday. Should I cancel set appointment? Did the truck fix itself? Thank you
