Interesting. Does anybody know what configuration they use for the epa numbers? Is that info. available somewhere? Just wondering what gears they use and whether it is a supercab, crewcab, or regular cab.

My 5.4L and my new 5.0 are the same in mpg. I know cause it's on the window stickers. Will post pics later

When these MPG figures refer to 4x2 and 4x4 trucks - do the 4x4 trucks still take the MPG hit just for having the equipment but not running in 4WD mode, or is it only while in 4WD?

Fuel economy numbers for 4X4 are not derived while in FWD.

4x4 take a mileage hit no matter what.

I wold imagine these M.P.G. are based on a very basic truck using 93 Octane.

We have 85, 87 & 91. No 93?

LOL. I think you are putting some other forum members on. Good one.

For those that may not know, the EPA tests are done on factory recommended gas octane, 87 for F-150. Fueleconomy.gov clearly states that.

I downloaded the 2014 and 2015 databases available from the www.fueleconomy.gov website, which contain unrounded values. The results for the combined fuel economy label value are as follows (where TC means turbocharged, i.e. Ford's EcoBoost engines):
