New ford buyer 3.5L V6 Ti-VCT question

As for comparative gas mileage for the 3.5na vs. 5.0L ( if the OP cares about that ) Have driven both for about 8-9000klms and not much difference really. Please bare with me, being Canadian this is in Kims and liters.
3.5na = 11.8 - 12.0 liters per 100klms
5.0L = 12.9 - 13.1 liters per 100klms
So about 1 liter more per 100klms for the 5.0L ...that's not bad right? You're looking at about ( depending on gas prices of coarse ) $10 - $12 more per fill up for the 5.0L. Totally worth it for me but the 5.0L is a $2000 option so that can be a good place to save on the final cost of the truck for the OP if choosing the 3.5na

I would get the 2.7L EB. It will have higher resale value, and I don't think it's that much more expensive than the 3.5L NA. Also, in a SuperCrew, I think the 3.5NA is a bit of a dog. There is nothing worse than feeling like you want more engine down the line and lack a reasonable aftermarket to increase power without incurring huge costs.

Please show me where the 3.5 non turbo gets better mileage than the 5.0.

So Ford, the EPA and all the posters on here are lying about it ? Guess my 3.5 Supercab 4x4 averaging about 2mpg better than my friends 5.0 Supercab 4x4 is an anomaly too right ?

I have had my 3.5NA Scab for a year now. Now issues at all and average 20.6mpg since it was new. 21K miles and probably 60city/40highway. It does have the tow pkg and 3.73 gears.
When I bought the truck (after trading in a 14 XLT screw with a 3.5eco) I was so happy I found a screw with all the options I wanted that I didnt notice I was buying the 3.5NA motor and really didnt care after I found out
Will see what it drops to after changing from 18inch factory wheels to 20 inch wheels with 295/60/20's going on later today.

Those estimates on not based on real world testing. They are using a controlled environment. I'm not bashing the 3.5 but when you compare two identical trucks with 3.5 vs 5.0, the 5.0 will get better mileage. Power to weight ratio plays a huge role in economy.

Ok. I'm not arguing about it. Look at the guy who owned both just a few posts above you...he even said the 3.5 got better mpg, small diff, but better....guess that's not real world enough. You should really work for EPA or be a Ford engineer 😂
