Might want to check over the 502a options included if that one was somehow left off from factory.
I surely do not wear skinny jeans... and I have problems with the key fob in my pocket - it usually just sets off the alarm though! I went and got those silicone jackets to put my key fob in, we'll see how well that works.

I believe this is the part. My 16 Lariat 502a came with remote release and dampened lowering.

I was wondering if anyone would catch that little comment

I'm sure that's not the cause of the problem but it's the visual I get when I hear the complaints.

Yes, should have it. If truck arrives without the damper simply get dealer to install, $50 part and 1/2 hour labor. They'll comp. that for sure.

EXCELLENT catch my brother!!!!!
It was a custom order and I got to dealership right after it was delivered. I don't think there was time for them to take it off. In fact it took them a while to figure out what and where the dampener was located. The factory appears to have missed it. I was able to catch it bc I saw it from another post on this forum months ago. Just one of the many pre delivery checks I did based off of other people's issues they encountered. The list was extensive

Yeah, I got a chuckle out of it also. Even if I think it might be annoying, I had to give a thanks because I appreciate humor.

Just did build on Ford's site, Lariat with 501A and higher has:

Remote Tailgate Release
An unexpected convenience for your F-150 truck. Lock or unlock the tailgate with the key fob or inside door switch. Release the tailgate with the key fob.

You guys scared the crap out of me, I was certain my 501 on order was equipped with tailgate slow and remote fob release.
