Long story short; Have a CCLB 6.0 PSD, and I'm wanting something smaller and gets better mileage than my 8400lb beast. It tows WTF I want it to but its rarely called to do so. I have a nearly 23foot F350 in a 24 foot garage. I found a nice 2020 w/ only 45 miles. It has some hail damage from up North (saw the original title location), has the 302A XLT package, 4wd, 3.55 w/ locker, back up assist, 8" nav system, heated seats, etc..
Is there anything unique that I should look for before agreeing to purchase? I've got years of wrenching, I'm familiar w/ the title situation and it will be looked over in person before buying so I know the norms to look for but is there anything specific for the 2020 3.5 EBs?
If you don't care that there is hail dings all over it... why not? Prob get it at a great price with the damage. Might want to check and see if new windows went in it. If the stock ones got blown out, there could be water damage. Other than that... what else can hail really break on these things that wouldn't be visible?
The 302A pkg is a solid equipment group and gives you a good number of features. As long as you are equipped to handle the substantial payload and towing hit going from a 350 to 150, not much else I can think of.
I'll tell you, you'll like the ride quality of IFS in day to day use.
It all depends on what packages you want, what you need it for, and the price with hail damage. It sounds like it never left a dealer lot so you may be paying "new" pricing... not sure if that is a concern for you.
I think either 302a or 502a are well equipped and prefer Sport package to remove the chrome but its personal preference.
2020 is gen 2 of the 3.5, 10 speed trans. No concerns there, nice powertrain.
While I don't disagree with other's comments on what to look for I think the first question I'd ask you is...
What do you want to do with it? Is it going to be a farm truck? Will you tow with it? Are you going to pick up your date in it...and if so, do you care that there are dings all over?

Nope. Looks like a good find, good luck! Let us know the result.

Yep pricing was very good compared to other market findings. All the windows are original NOTHING has been worked on or replaced. Its got some visible dings from the hail and a cracked tail light but thats it. My F350 and our camry are auction vehicles. We call the Camry dimply, this one will be some variant of the same for obvious reasons. I can appreciate a pretty vehicle, but I want my trucks to be utilitarian.

I found a PDF w/ all the 2020 options and you're right, the 302a looks to be a decent option. The wife drove a 2018 F150 and was pleased w/ the ride and handling, a big improvement over the battleship.
At the moment the payload option is only "hauling" ***** Lol I love diesels but the EPA has destroyed the platform.

You know and clearly like the engine, cab size, bed, and it has the generally preferred locking 3.55 rear axle, seems pretty good overall
Attached is the original window sticker. It does say Max Trailer and 36g.
I honestly was hoping for a 2.7 and 10spd. I don't haul much so I figured that option would work and it would give me better mileage for DD but I can't complain w/ what I stumbled upon.

Lol, my buddy checked it out and he literally said if I don't buy it, he'll get it an flip it. It still has the dings thus reduced price.

Ok. Why that? Just better mpg? The 36g will be nice, it would be nice to make long road trips w/o the need for excessive fill-ups.

I wasn't really looking for a specific package, more of a 'whats the best bang for the buck' but I do realize the 302a gives me the wiring harness to do anything to it that is available on any other 300 option. FWIW, the 500 series wiring harness would have been needed for upgrades mimicking the Lariat and above, however I don't need a sun roof so I lucked out really.

Yearly, it might get 2000 hwy miles and maybe another 1000 city miles the rest of the time it decorates my garage -shrug-. I'm extremely lucky to have a company vehicle so its will be my rando errands, grocery getter or cross country traveler. when i visit my friends. I have no trailers at the moment so towing will be relegated to helping friends in a pinch/broke down etc.., using a neighbors dump trailer to get mulch at the dump, or moving to my next promotion.
I had considered getting another 7.3 and using my current 05 suspension to do a retro and part the rest of the 2005 out. I'd do a simple 444 build w/ a girdle, manly connecting rods, w/ custom TT and some 250/100's and have a reliable, streetable dyno proven 500-550hp PSD that could still get 18 or so if I go w/ a 6spd. I could bump that to 400/400's to hit 700hp/1500 ftlbs ( I think swamps has vid if I can find it again) but the 6spd internals are getting maxed out at that point.
I'm getting older and the wife does like the ride of the F150 and I have no projected need for anything beyond the F150 specs w/ any regularity. Anything else/more is simply play/toy time. I did consider a 5.0 then making a custom TT set up but I couldn't find a new 5.0 and 10spd at the price I wanted. My aunt got a helluva deal on a simliar XLT in 2018. Same packages nearly but 3.31 gears and 5.0 and 10spd. Shes getting almost 23 on the hwy at 75 and her sticker price vs sale price was to die for. No one wanted the 5.0's in Houston so she got a frickin killer deal, way under sticker. The 5.0 will be so much easier to work on long term but it is what it is.

Thanks for the vote of confidence.
I appreciate the feedback. It was inspected yesterday by a very close friend of mine of 35 years and he was very impressed. He's next in line if it falls through, as he's always looking for opportunities to flip something. I sent in the funding so I'm waiting on the dealer to get me freight info. Unless they screw something up/bait and switch, it will be mine shortly.
