Default Need advice

Hopefully going to pick up a new XLT CC sport 4x4 tomorrow.

Is there anything that I need to look for/expect (that you wish you knew about) before taking delivery?

Thanks in advance. I have already learned tons of info here and I am looking forward to not only getting help here but also hope I can pass on some of my knowledge as well.

Is there something you read/heard that you are worried about?

What size engine?

Allegedly there is a list floating around of all the things people need to check. Make sure you bring your mechanics coveralls so you can climb all over the truck. Don't want to get dirty while you're crawling underneath it verifying that you have a driveshaft and fuel tank. Spare tire, correct axle. Some people would make you think you are responsible for all of this prior to driving off.

I'm kidding. Seriously though, there is a pre-delivery checklist on the forum somewhere for some common and not-so-common issues people are finding. Take it with a grain of salt. Most of the people on a truck forum are very particular about their vehicles and notice things in 2 days that others wouldn't notice throughout the duration of ownership.

Here is the list that Booze mentioned. I did not utilize it in entirety when we bought, but i did look at it as a good reference list. Cant remember who made it, but its got a lot of things the average buyer doesn't look at/consider.

Congrats and Best of luck! And be sure to post pictures when you get your new ride.

I'm the guilty party... Many of the issues were 2015 problems only but are still on "the list". Some (hopefully yours) have no issues at all. I may have updated something as it is a running doc and everytime I find a new problem or mistake somebody makes I integrate it into the document. So this is the latest.

Great info guys. Thank you for all the help.

Hope to see you "on the other side" (of ownership that is)!
