Default What would you do...

I'm pluzzed about what I should do or look at. To keep it short I had a 2014 Platinum got rid of it and have missed it ever since. That being said, I have found a dealership that has about 9 2015 Platinums still on there lots. How far or what price should I try and get them down to make that a good buy?

Secondly, should I scrap the idea of a Platinum and look for a loaded Lariat? If so what would I be giving up to do so?

Thanks -

Have them take $20,000 off MSRP for starters. That will put you right into the pricing territory for a lariat.

I'd go for the platinum and look for 12 to 14k off the msrp. I don't think 20k off is realistic but you don't get what you don't ask for either.

Personally, I'd rather get a 2016 than a 2015 for the Sync 3 alone. If you don't mind the MFT, then I wouldn't consider a 2015 leftover unless they knocked at least $12K off the MSRP before tax & tags. You can find 2016 for $10K off for the most part but it all depends on your region to be honest

If you intend to keep it a long time, buy one if they get to a price YOU are comfortable with. Who cares what others think/type. Just don't fall in love with a 2017 if you do buy a 2015........ That'll not be too cost effective....

To me, the Platinum is worth it, but I'd get the 2016 because of sync 3. You should be able to get a 2016 almost the same price as the 15. Platinums to me have better wheels, grill, and the leather is supposed to be higher quality.

I also like the interior treatments better. The wood grain and real aluminum fit better in a truck of this caliber vs the plastic in the Lariats. I also wanted the wood trimmed steering wheel because I drive with my hand on top of the steering wheel and I'll wear the leather out within a few years. A worn out steering wheel makes the whole interior looks used.

This.

Generally Platinums don't have the rebate incentives other models do. 20K off msrp might be more than they can swallow but 14-15 might just get er done. That would be a pretty good deal unless you plan on selling or trading within a year or three.

If you buy one be sure and let us know what they ended up doing for you.

I got 12,000 off my '16 Lariat - make them a stink bid. The depreciation should be the wholesale value plus a small profit. They will Be really motivated to get rid of them as they are 2 years old.

Good deals can definetly be had on 2016's, even if the local Ford guy has left over 15's. The 16, Sync 3 primarily and not first year aluminum, should be able to be had $12-$14k off MSRP.

In the end, get what makes most sense, works best for your pocket, and will make you happiest long run.

If you are someone who keeps vehicles til the wheels fall off, it could be a really good deal for you. If you are someone who trades vehicles every 3, you will lose your ***. Keep in mind, it is already 2 model years old.

I would say should for >20% off. Given a $60k msrp, that puts you at $12k off which is in line with what most here are suggesting.
