The SD card will say A5 or A6.

Just updated POI. Anything new within the past 3 years or so will now show up. Area dependent. If you're in an established area without much change the difference will be negligible.

For example, my house was built 4 years ago. My road doesn't show up on the A5 card. I imagine it would show up on A6.

My truck came with the A5 chip. I complained to my sales guy that a friend at work had a 2014 that had my house on his Nav and my 2015 did not have my house, which was true. I was also complaining about the new 0% financing rates to hit my area after I bought. The sales guy gave me the A6 at $300 cost to him, none to me, but I couldn't do anything about the financing.

They are not $300 and I'm sure he didn't pay for it.

I noticed that as well. I bought the A5 for $40 so I'm waiting until it gets to that price to update my other Ford.

Hi gentz002,

SYNC Services also uses GPS to find your location. Due to licensing, vehicles have to have navigation added during build. Here's more info on SYNC Services:

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the response Rebecca. So is there anyway to add nav after the vehicle has already been built?

No he didn't I meant his sales department would have had to payup since the service department wasn't letting it go for anything less than $300. I agree they are not worth $300. Anything from the dealer is aggressively marked up I'm sure they can work deals between departments and what not but they have inventory controls they can't just give out their stuff for free like my sales guy did.

You're welcome!

Currently, the navigation app cannot be added once a vehicle leaves the factory; SYNC Services does have audible turn-by-turn directions.
