Default Name that sensor

Hey guys. I recently removed the grille and accidently pulled two wires out of a sensor.....can’t get them back in and think I need to buy a new one.
When you remove the grille you unplug two different plugs. These are located under near the hood latch
Any clue what this sensor if for?? The green and yellow wires.... no check engine light has come on.

One of the connetors plugs directly into the active grill shutter motor. The other connector plugs into a connector/harness for the 360 camera (if you have it) and the ambient air temperature sensor.

Haven’t noticed any difference without it plugged in....surprised it didn’t throw a code

any tips on inserting that wire back into the plug holes? Or buy a new one and wire it in where it was located....

Based on the fact that your pic looks like the connector only has 2 wires, I would lean towards ambient air temp. Does your dash show the outside temperature? And if so, does it still work? Active grill shutter should have set a DTC.

Just checked the two grill ssemblies I have in the garage. That connector is not the active grill shutter. Definatly the ambient air temp sensor.

The ambient air temp sensor is in my passenger mirror on the 2018. When I changed out mirrors I found out the hard way.....no temp sensor in the grille in the new ones

when the mirrors were unplugged the temp did not work...
grille plug has been unplugged with no change...

Unplugging the active shutters did not throw a code on my truck. Easy enough to check if the shutters are working by watching the shutters cycle on startup.
