I took the silencers out of my intake tubes, and it made a difference- In normal mode you can just hear the turbos spool, in sport mode, its very noticeable. I have heard taking the "diaper" off under the truck will make it noisier too, but for now, it's keeping my undercarriage cleaner, so untill something happens, like the bolts won't come out, or the diaper falls apart, it's gonna stay on. I am very disappointed in the low grade stainless used in the exhaust though. My mid pipe and resonator are covered in spotty rust, not that it means its rotting out, but looks like crap. Looks worse than galvanized pipe IMO... When it gets really bad, I will replace my resonator with straight pipe and run it.

yea but its nothing like switching downpipes.... the only negative is that the 2.7Ls dont sound that great exhaust wise, on the 3.5 the downpipe really improves the exhaust note, but us 2.7L guys just dont have the displacement. We get stuck with a honda sound if you go even slightly aggressive with the muffler.

But when guys laugh at my 2.7L twin turbo stickers on my hood, I just mash the gas and pass them, so I don't care if it sounds little ricey, it's amazing power from a tiny motor.

Yeah, I'm much more impressed with those big luxury sedans that silently leave everyone eating their dust as they speed away compared to riceboxes with fart cans or trucks with straight pipes. They just **** everyone off in the neighborhood. You can pull a muffler off of a 1989 Ford Tempo and it'll be just a loud, but it's not that impressive either.

So it sounds like really just get downpipes and a program, that's really the best bang for the buck?

A tune CAN void the warranty. Even if you reflash it back to stock, they are now able to tell if it was ever tuned. You can't hide it anymore. Downpipes, intake, cat back exhaust. The downpipes alone should make a difference. But honestly, unless you take it to the track to shave off every 10th you can, it's not gonna be dramatic in daily driving.
